Thessaloniki Airport to Halkidiki: Complete Transfer Guide
Actualizat 30 sep 2026
Thessaloniki Airport (SKG) is the closest airport to Halkidiki, and it sits on the south-east side of the city, so you do not have to cross Thessaloniki to reach the peninsula. From the airport a main road runs south-east through Nea Moudania, where it splits for Kassandra and Sithonia.
How long does it take?
| From SKG to | Approx. distance | Approx. time |
|---|---|---|
| Nea Moudania | 50 km | 45 min |
| Sani Resort | 72 km | 1 h |
| Kallithea | 85 km | 1 h 10 min |
| Nikiti | 90 km | 1 h 15 min |
| Neos Marmaras | 115 km | 1 h 40 min |
| Sarti | 145 km | 2 h 5 min |
| Ouranoupoli | 125 km | 1 h 50 min |
Times are for normal traffic. On summer Saturdays, when most hotel changeovers happen, allow a little more.
Your options
Private transfer
A driver meets you in arrivals and takes you straight to your hotel. The price is fixed for the vehicle, so for families and groups it often costs about the same as two taxis, with room for everyone's luggage in one vehicle. See prices for your route.
Taxi
There is a taxi rank outside arrivals. Taxis are fine for couples with light luggage; for more than four people you will usually need two cars.
Bus
Buses to Halkidiki leave from the KTEL Halkidiki bus station in Thessaloniki, not from the airport, so you first need to get to that station by city bus or taxi. It is the cheapest option but can take most of the day with a change and luggage.
Car hire
Useful if you want to explore every day. Remember parking in the busier resorts in August can be difficult, and you will have to drive after a flight.
Tips
- Book your transfer before you fly and give your flight number, so pickup follows the actual landing time.
- If you have young children, ask for child seats in advance.
- Want to stop at a supermarket before a villa? Add an extra stop when you book.
